Why CBD Tea?

Our CBD Teas

When John and Nora founded Moody Teas, we had seen tons of research supporting the benefits of CBD. So we thought, why not CBD tea? Both founders, and many friends and family, had used CBD to treat a variety of conditions and symptoms. Research has shown that CBD can help with a variety of conditions. We saw our blends as an easy, fun, and customizable way to introduce CBD into your day.

Why in tea?

Tea is a great way to introduce CBD into your day without added ingredients. CBD exists in current forms usually as gummies, mints, or beverages. These all contain additional ingredients like sugars or artificial sweeteners, juices, preservatives, colors, and flavorings. You can brew Moody Teas tasteless CBD tea just like any tea, so you can make your tea your way. Drink as many cups as you need to get the ideal dose for you. Get your CDB without added calories or sugar and in the flavor of your favorite tea!

  • CBD may be used for a variety of purposes, and incorporated into your diet in a variety of ways. CBD research is new and much of this research has yet to be accepted by the FDA. For that reason, this information is for educational purposes only and has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. • Most commonly, CBD has been used for pain relief. While there is currently only one FDA approved CBD based pain management treatment (Elixicure), there is ongoing research on the effectiveness of CBD as a pain management tool.
  • Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by affecting endocannabinoid receptors, reducing inflammation, and interacting with neurotransmitters. Some research suggests that CBD may relieve symptoms of rheumatic diseases such as fibromyalgia. Additionally, preclinical evidence from rodents indicates CBD may have beneficial effects on pain and inflammation related to arthritis.
  • Many studies are working to document the effectiveness of CBD in treating mild to severe cases of a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety disorders; however, more research is needed on the subject.
  • A small 2019 study also found that CBD may be effective for reducing PTSD-related symptoms, including nightmares, in adults. Several other studies have found that CBD may be effective for those with social anxiety and other anxiety-related disorders. Results from several studies suggest that it may help reduce depressive symptoms in those with cannabis use disorders. Research investigating the effects of CBD on symptoms of anxiety and depression is ongoing, but a study evaluating the possible effectiveness of CBD on anxiety and depression symptoms in people with bipolar disorder completed in April 2022 showed promising results.
  • Research is being done on whether CBD may help reduce some cancer-related symptoms and side effects related to cancer treatment, such as nausea, vomiting, and pain. CBD is also being studied in conjunction with TCH, which may help patients whose symptoms are not relieved by pain medication.
  • One study examined the effects of CBD and THC in people with cancer-related pain who did not experience relief from pain medication. A review of five studies found some evidence that CBD and THC may help reduce cancer-related pain in some people. CBD may be helpful for some people with cancer, but more research is needed to determine whether CBD should be used more regularly in cancer symptom management.
  • Researchers believe that CBD’s ability to act on the endocannabinoid system and other brain-signaling systems may provide benefits for those with neurological disorders. In fact, one of the most studied uses for CBD is in treating neurological disorders such as epilepsy and MS. Though research in this area is still relatively new, several studies have shown promising results, but more research is needed.
  • CBD/THC is being studied as a way to reduce muscle spasticity in people with MS, including 75% of people with MS that was resistant to medications. Research indicates people with severe epilepsy given CBD oil based on weigh may see their seizures reduced. CBD oil significantly reduced seizure activity in children with Dravet syndrome, a complex childhood epilepsy disorder. Epidiolex, a prescription cannabidiol product, was approved for use by the FDA in 2018 for the treatment of seizures associated with two severe forms of epilepsy. This is the only FDA approved CBD drug. Several studies have shown that treatment with CBD may improve quality of life and sleep quality in people with Parkinson’s disease, though further study is necessary.
  • Some research has linked CBD with several benefits for the heart and circulatory system, including the ability to lower high blood pressure. High blood pressure is linked to higher risks of a number of health conditions, including stroke, heart attack, and metabolic syndrome. Studies indicate that CBD may be beneficial for people with high blood pressure.
  • In a small study, healthy men were treated with CBD oil, which reduced resting blood pressure compared with a placebo. Another study found that treatment with CBD for 7 days led to significant reductions in blood pressure in the short term compared with a placebo. As with most CBD research, further study is needed.
  • CBD has been studied for its role in treating a number of health issues other than those outlined above. Though more studies are needed, CBD is thought to provide the following health benefits: Antipsychotic effects. Studies suggest that CBD may help people with reduce symptoms of psychosis.
  • Research is underway on the use of CBD in people with substance abuse. CBD may be helpful for relieving anxiety and depression in people who have a dependence on drugs. Recent studies suggest that treatment with a combination of CBD and THC may help extend the life of some people with an aggressive form of cancer called glioblastoma, though further research is needed. Some studies suggest that CBD might help improve sleep in people with certain sleep disorders, though more research is needed.
  • While we (and many others) love CBD, it isn't for everyone. While research is promising, many years of further research is needed before we can confirm these benefits. When using CBD, make sure the product has been third party tested, and start with a small dose, adjusting until you feel your best. As always, consult your doctor to make sure CBD doesn't interfere with any existing medications or supplements.

Our CBD

Our CBD is 3rd party tested and our CBD blends contain 0% THC. Testing also certifies that our servings are correct. For example, each serving of tea contains 20mg of CBD (unless using 40mg dose). We use an organic, water based isolate to allow the CBD to dissolve into you cup of tea. This means no added flavor or residue.
